Hello, my name is ShaRee’ Harris and I’m the District School Counselor for Boles ISD. This is my 3rd year at Boles and my 5th year as a District School Counselor. This is my 19th year in education. My husband, Patrick and I have been married for 17 years. When Patrick and I were first married, he was enlisted in The United States Marine Corps and we were stationed in Cherry Point, North Carolin. We lived in North Carolina for 5 years and that is where I had our 2 daughters: Scarlett and Savannah.
The cool thing about being married to a Marine was that I moved around a lot. In fact, Boles is my 8th school and my 7th school district. Patrick and I moved back to Texas 10 years ago, we are both from Garland. When we moved back we decided we wanted to raise our family away from the city. We found a home in Point, and we have never looked back. Now Patrick works as a field service rep for Tadano Cranes, and he travels each week for work. My girls are now in the 10th and 7th grade.
I’ve known since the 1st grade that I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from Texas Tech in 2003 and began teaching Middle School Theater at Hudson Middle School in Garland. The next year, I decided to give high school a try, I taught 9th grade English at Spruce High School in Pleasant Grove. That summer, Patrick and I were married and I recieved a job teaching repeater English in North Carolina, Scarlett was 4 weeks old when I started that job. I taught at West Craven for 5 years, I taught 9th, 10th 11th and 12th grade English, Reading, and Occupational Prep, I also coached the JV and Varsity cheerleaders. I took a job at Havelock High School teaching 9th and 10th grade English, to be closer to home, I taught at Havelock onne semester. We then moved back home to Texas and I started teaching 9th and 11th grade English and coaching cheer at Rowlett High School for 3 years. We then found our house in Point, and I taught 9th and 10th grade English and became student council sponsor while working on my Master’s Degree. I completed my Masters of Arts in School Counseling in 2015, and became the District School Counselor for Campbell ISD. I stayed at Campbell for 2 years, and then I was approached by Boles former counselor, to come and work at Boles, and I did.
I love working at Boles. I love that I get to work with students at all different levels.
